Dynamo v RSL and Mexico v Angola – Dynamo deets
World Cupdate – Pelada – Local tryouts – Keeper Query
A doubleheader of sorts
Someone forgot to alert the powers that be that Dynamo fans and interational soccer fans are often one in the same ... we've got two great matches tonight, both kicking off at 8 pm. So watch one and DVR the other, but be sure to enjoy both!
Dynamo at Real Salt Lake
Join Dynamo fans (21+) at Lucky's Pub to watch the Dynamo away game. Party begins at 7:30 pm and there will be lotsa specials. Game airs live on ESPN2 at 8 pm. Brian Ching is available to play in this match, his last with the team before heading to US national team camp. Or join the Texian Army at Ernie's on Banks off Montrose, just south of Hwy. 59 (21+).
Mexico v Angola
Or head over to Reliant Stadium for a dynamic mix of interational soccer styles. If you don't already have tickets, you should buy them now -- there were fewer than 2,000 seats left as of late Wednesday. Be sure to plan for the heavy traffic -- parking lots open at 3 pm, Futbol Fiesta begins at 4 pm on the south side of the stadium and gates open at 6:30 pm. Match airs live on Telemundo.

Champions of Hope May 22
The Dynamo will host a Champions of Hope event at the home game against DC United to benefit the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Dynamo Charities will match contributions up to $5,000. Donations can be made at http://txg.mwoy.llsevent.org/pledge/index.cfm?mid=RHARRIS.
On May 19, there will be a Celebrity Pour at Lucky’s Pub from 5:30 - 7:30 pm -- Dynamo players serve as guest bartenders, with tips donated to the campaign. The event is free to Dynamo fans 21 and older; free domestic beer and wine available.
In addition, the Dynamo will offer a special ticket package for the May 22 match against D.C. United. For just $49.99, you get a ceramic Dynamo beer stein, a game ticket and access to the pre-game party. More info at HoustonDynamo.com/LLS.

"Two players. 25 countries. One game."
Away from pro stadiums and manicured fields, there’s another side of soccer. Tucked away on alleys, side streets, and concrete courts, people play in improvised games. In the US, we call it "pick-up soccer." In Trinidad, it's "taking a sweat." In Brazil, the word is “pelada,” which literally means "naked" -- the game stripped down to its core. It’s the version of the game played by anyone, anywhere -- and it’s a window into lives all around the world.
"Pelada" is a documentary following Luke and Gwendolyn, two former college soccer stars who didn’t quite make it to the pros. Not ready for it to be over, they take off, chasing the game. From prisoners in Bolivia to moonshine brewers in Kenya, from freestylers in China to women who play in hijab in Iran, "Pelada" is the story of the people who play.
"Pelada" is coming to Houston! Don't miss your chance to see the movie and help the filmmakers raise much needed funds to complete post-production. The screening will be May 19, 7 pm at Studio Movie Grill, 805 Town and Country Lane. There will be a Q&A session with director Ryan White immediately following the screening.
Tickets are $10 and are available online at http://www.neoflix.com/store/PEL41/PEL4191TIX01-19May7pm

Keeper Query
Props to Peggy Coffer for the correct answer to last week's query: Mike Chabala (yes, Mike Chabala) is the only field player to have played every minute for the Dynamo this season.
This week's query: The preliminary rosters for the 32 World Cup squads were named this week. Two Americans were named to rosters for other countries. Who are they? First to answer correctly after 9 am CT wins a Dynamo poncho. Email your answer to keeper@keepernotes.com.
