Show your
support for soccer & KPFT this Sunday
This Sunday's "Soccer Hour with Glenn
Davis" on 90.1 KPFT (5-6 pm)
will be a station fund raiser. The program is done on a
strictly
volunteer basis, and is not necessarily supported by the
entire board
of directors at KPFT. The program is a wonderful
opportunity to
bolster awareness of soccer in our community and is the
only English
language soccer program in Houston.
What youth coaching director would not want soccer
covered in the
media? What league president would not want soccer
discussed in the
media? Coverage of soccer positively affects everyone
associated with
the game. Please show your support for soccer & the
Sunday soccer
program by becoming a KPFT member during the show this
Sunday (it's
quite inexpensive). Please call 713-526-5738 between 5
and 6 pm, and
let them know what organization you are with so Glenn can
mention it
on the air. And please spread the word to the rest of the
soccer
community!

adult amateur
league, created to develop women's soccer at the highest
amateur level
(http://www.wpsl.info). The WPSL includes the California
Storm, which
has signed many former WUSA players, including Houston's
own Monica
Gonzalez (Boston Breakers), Brandi Chastain (San Jose
Cyberrays) and
Lorrie Fair (Philadelphia Charge).
Adult soccer clinics

February 21 and Saturday, March 28. Time/location TBA.

Update on the WUSA!
The WUSA relaunch committee recently announced
that the world's best
women's soccer players will return in summer 2004 with
several WUSA
Soccer Festivals. These events will serve as a bridge for
the league
as it prepares to return to full operation in 2005. See
