Brazilian women's team in Texas
The full women's national team of Brazil will
tour Texas prior to heading to Birmingham for a match
against the US on April 24. The team will have camps with

Sting Soccer Club in Dallas hosts its inaugural
College Soccer Showcase featuring Texas, Texas A&M,
Purdue, Baylor, North Texas, Tulane and SMU, plus the u19

Skills clinics for men & women on Saturday,
April 3 at 9 am at Wilson Elementary in Montrose. Minimum

US national team news
The US men face Poland in Poland on March 31,
then meet Mexico in the Cotton Bowl in Dallas on April
28. They'll play a home & away World Cup qualifying
series in June against Grenada. See http://www.ussoccer.com.
The US women lost to Sweden last Friday 3-1, but still
won their Algarve Cup group. They thrashed Norway 4-1 in
the final, with three goals from Abby Wambach. The women
open their domestic schedule against Brazil in
Birmingham, Alabama on April 24, followed by a match
against Mexico in Albuquerque on May 9.
HWSA scholarship program
HWSA awards three $1000 scholarships each year
to Houston area female high school players who will be

Austin Posse vs Tigres
The Austin Posse is a new men's team that will
play exhibitions during 2004 as they pursue professional
affiliation for 2005. On April 3, the Posse face Tigres
of Mexico's 1st division at 7 pm at House Park Stadium in
downtown Austin. Future opponents include Chivas, the

The Keep the WUSA Dream Alive
initiative will gauge support for the league as it
prepares to return to full operation in 2005. Go to http://www.wusa.com/keepthedreamalive/ to pledge your support. The worlds
greatest female soccer players will be featured in two
WUSA festivals this summer: June 17-20 in Blaine, MN and
June 24-27 in Carson, CA. Each festival will include two
matches; nearly 100 WUSA players are scheduled to
participate.
