Olympic qualifying update
The US women begin their qualifying bid next
Wednesday against Trinidad & Tobago (3 pm), then face
Haiti on February 27 (8 pm) before finishing first round
play against Mexico on February 29 (3 pm). The semifinals
will be March 3, final & third-place matches March 5.

Adult soccer clinics
HWSA will host coed skills clinics on Saturday,
February 21 (central Houston) and Saturday, February 28
(southwest Houston -- rescheduled from March 6). Minimum

Tryouts for the Houston Stars (WPSL)
Open tryouts this Saturday at Bear Creek Park,
fields 18 and 19. There will be two sessions: 10-noon and

Rice University Soccer Academy summer camps
Open to boys & girls ages 4-18; coach to
player ratio approximately 10 to 1. Both day and
overnight summer camps available, beginning in June. Full

The return of Man U
Manchester United and Celtic FC will return to
the US this summer for the ChampionsWorld Series 2004.
Man U will play in Chicago and New York, Celtic in Boston
and Toronto, dates & opponents TBA. Other
matches/locations will be announced soon. Keep an eye on http://www.championsworld.com. The inaugural ChampionsWorld Series in
2003 brought some of the biggest names in soccer to the
US for two weeks of games viewed by more than 420,000 in
seven cities. Teams included Man U, Celtic, Juventus, AC
Milan, Barcelona, Boca Juniors & Club America.
