HWSA scholarships for 2004 grads
HWSA awards three $1000 scholarships each year
to Houston area female high school soccer players who
will be attending college in the fall. Applicants do not
have to be affiliated with a youth club or with HWSA.

US national teams

The US women face Brazil on Saturday, April 24 in

Shannon Boxx and Abby Wambach were named to the FIFA
Women's World Stars team that will face defending World
Cup champs Germany on May 20 in France as part of the
FIFA centennial celebration. The match will be followed
by a game beween reigning men's World Cup champs Brazil
and defending European champions France.
Houston Stars open at home May 1
The Houston Stars kick off the 2004 season on
Saturday, May 1 against the Elk Grove Pride. The Stars
roster includes former WUSA player Michaella Rooney and
Greek national teamer Sophia Smith. For info, see

national league focusing on the development of

be featured in WUSA festivals this summer June 17-20 in
