Olympic qualifying update
The US men will not qualify for the Olympics for the first time since 1976 as Mexico won 4-0 in Guadalajara Tuesday night. The US was outshot 18-4, and only forced two saves. Costa Rica advanced to the Olympics with a 3-0 win over Honduras. For more info, see

Coach April Heinrichs has named the women's roster that will try for an Olympic berth in the qualifying tournament in Costa Rica. The US women head Group A, which also features Trinidad & Tobago, Haiti and Mexico. Canada heads Group B, which features Jamaica, Panama and Costa Rica. Top two finishers in each group "cross over" for the semifinals; semifinal winners earn Olympic berths.

The US opens on February 25 against Trinidad & Tobago (3 pm), then face Haiti on February 27 (8 pm) before finishing first round play against Mexico on February 29 (3 pm). The semifinals will be March 3, final & third-place matches March 5. Fans can follow US matches on ussoccer.com’s MatchTracker. See
