The got milk? 3v3 Soccer Shootout National Tour
is coming to Austin August 2nd and 3rd at the Town and Country Sports Complex. The national tour makes 65 stops, including 56 local events and 8 regional qualifiers, leading to the National Finals held at Disney's Wide World of Sports Complex in Orlando, Florida. Whether you are 6 or 60, out for fun or to compete with the best, the got milk? 3v3 Soccer Shootout is the place to experience it all.

Applications for the Austin tournament must be received by July 20. You can email austin@3v3soccer.com for an application or log on to 3v3soccer.com to register your team and learn more about other cities on the 2003 Tour.

US women face Brazil Sunday in last WWC warmup
This match will be the last for the US before coach April Heinrichs chooses the World Cup team in August. The match kicks off at 3 pm in New Orleans, and will be televised live on ESPN. The US roster includes Joy Fawcett, Mia Hamm, Julie Foudy, Abby Wambach, Cindy Parlow, Briana Scurry, Brandi Chastain, Aly Wagner; the Brazil roster will likely include Sissi, Katia and Pretinha.


Competitive Excellence Goalkeeper Camp for ages 10-18
July 14-16 at Pin Oak Middle School, Bellaire
9 am - 11:30 am, $150 per person

Sessions will be conducted by former professional keeper, national goalkeeper clinician, and owner of Competitive Excellence, Steve Branz. This is a great opportunity for keepers of all levels to continue their overall development at the game's most demanding position. The camp will focus on:

• Dealing with crosses
• Hand and foot distribution
• Proper diving techniques
• Shot handling
• Backpasses

US Soccer Festival update
The U.S. Soccer Festival is in need of children 11 and older to be ball "people" throughout the tournament, which will be held at UH July 27-August 2 Most games are in the evenings. If interested, contact Patty Crane at patriciascrane@thekentgroup1.com or 281.531.5368 (day) or 281.531.8768 (evening).

Teams include the u20 men's teams from the US, Canada, Honduras and El Salvador, plus the u17 US women's team and the u19 Mexico women's team. Tickets go on sale Monday, July 14 at Fiesta stores in Houston.


Over 40 friendly: HWSA v AWSL
In preparation for Veterans Cup in August, Austin is hosting a TSSAS friendly between HWSA's Forte and AWSL's Texas Heat on Saturday, July 12 at Zilker Park #6 at 12:30 pm. All soccer fans are welcome. Barton Springs pool will be open for a cool dip afterward ($2.50 entry fee).
