WUSA in Houston: the sequel
The WUSA returns this spring with a preseason exhibition between the San Diego Spirit and the Atlanta Beat on Wednesday, March 26, 7 pm at Rice Track/Soccer Stadium. Featured players include Shannon MacMillan, Julie Foudy, Briana Scurry, Cindy Parlow, Joy Fawcett and Houston's own Amy Sauer. Tickets on sale mid-February; team & family discounts available; reserved seats (chairbacks) also on sale. Details to come at http://www.hwsa.org.


HWSA spring season: outdoor women's & coed
Player registration deadline for the spring season is Wednesday, January 29 at the HWSA league meeting. Details at http://www.hwsa.org/. Teams must register a minimum of 11 players by this date to be included in the spring schedule. Season begins February 9/10.

Goalkeeper training on Mondays
Steve Branz of Competitive Excellence Goalkeeping offers keeper training on Mondays, 8-9:30 pm at Burroughs Park (northwest Houston) beginning January 27. Women's South Texas State Select Team
The South Texas State select team (age 19 and up) will compete in the Region III Tournament in Dallas June 14 - 15; from this tourney players will be selected for the regional team, then the national pool. Eligible players seeking a higher level of competition should complete a player profile form (below) and submit via e-mail or fax to David DeVerteuil. All players at the state level must have amateur status.
