WUSA All-Star Game Thursday night
The American Stars of the WUSA (Briana Scurry, Mia Hamm, Kristine Lilly, Abby Wambach, etc.) take on the WUSA's World Stars (Charmaine Hooper, Maribel Dominguez, Marinette Pichon, semi-Houstonian Monica Gonzalez, etc.) in the 2003 All-Star Game, broadcast live on ESPN2 at 6:30 pm CT. International doubleheader at Reliant
Tuesday, July 8: MLS's Kansas City Wizards (Tony Meola, Chris Klein) play Mexico's Santos Laguna at 7 pm, then El Salvador's national team will take on Guatemala's national team at 9:15 pm. Women's World Cup update
The venues have been named, and the schedule set. The draw will be in July sometime, but the US game dates are already confirmed. The tourney starts on the east coast, and finishes on the west. Competitive Excellence Goalkeeper Camp for ages 10-18
July 14-16 at Pin Oak Middle School, Bellaire
9 am - 11:30 am, $150 per person

Sessions will be conducted by former professional keeper, national goalkeeper clinician, and owner of Competitive Excellence, Steve Branz. This is a great opportunity for keepers of all levels to continue their overall development at the game's most demanding position. The camp will focus on:

* Dealing with crosses
* Hand and foot distribution
* Proper diving techniques
* Shot handling
* Backpasses

Shout out to ...
the TSSAS Women's State Select Team for winning the Region III Championship last weekend. They beat Florida 2-1 with a golden goal in the first overtime. The tournament was hosted by North Texas State Soccer Association at Russell Creek Park in Allen, Texas. Next stop for the team is Florida in July for the national tournament vs. Regions I, II, and IV.

More great soccer in Houston
The u20 men's teams for Canada, Honduras and the USA have committed to play at the US Soccer Festival, to be held in Houston July 27 - August 2. The u20 Mexico team is also a likely participant. Women's teams will be announced soon. For more info, see http://www.tssas.com/soccerfestival.htm.
