The rivalry continues
Bruce's boys vs. the Tricolores. In Houston. May 8. Really. The big announcement is coming today from Reliant Stadium and U.S. Soccer. WUSA stars in Houston
Many women's soccer stars are coming to Houston this month to play in the March 26 WUSA preseason exhibition at Rice:

• U.S. national teamers Julie Foudy, Joy Fawcett, Briana Scurry, Shannon MacMillan, Cindy Parlow, Aly Wagner, Jaime Pagliarulo ... not to mention 2000 Olympic teamers Nikki Serlenga and Jenni Branam

• Homegrown stars Susan Bush and Amy Sauer, both Challenge Club alums

• The all-time leading scorers for Mexico, Canada, Japan and Scotland: Maribel Dominguez, Charmaine Hooper, Homare Sawa, Julie Fleeting

Meet Cindy Parlow! And a San Diego player too!
Cindy Parlow will sign autographs at Soccer 4 All in the Village on Tuesday, March 25, 5:45 pm - 6:30 pm. Cindy is the youngest player ever to win both an Olympic gold medal and a World Cup. Also, a player from the San Diego Spirit will make an appearance at Memorial City Mall on March 25. Details to come.


8v8 adult coed in Kingwood
Play 8v8 coed soccer this summer in Kingwood on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday nights at Deer Ridge. Minimum 3 women on the field, 25-minute halves, roster max of 12, minimum age 18. Wildfire SoccerFest
Tickets for the March 28/30 games between the Mexico women, A&M, Rice, Arkansas, SMU and the Region 4 ODP national champs are on sale at Houston Fiesta stores, <Soccer 4 All stores, and Horizon Indoor Soccer. Games will be held at Friendswood High School. See http://www.wildfiresoccer.net.


HWSA scholarships
Every year HWSA awards three one-year $1000 scholarships to Houston area female high school players who will be attending college in the fall. This year, HWSA will be award an extra $1000 scholarship, thanks to proceeds from the WUSA game last fall. Deadline and application information are online at http://www.hwsa.org/scholar.htm.

Texas Shootout College Showcase and USYSA adidas Cup
The largest female college coach showcase in the country, the annual Texas Shootout will be May 30 - June 1. In conjunction with the Shootout, USYSA will host matches at Meyer Park Tuesday - Saturday of that week where the female USA U-17 national teams will play several international teams.
