Coming to Houston in just two weeks:
Mia Hamm, Briana Scurry, Cindy Parlow, Siri Mullinix...
The Washington Freedom takes on the Atlanta Beat in the 2002 Space City Shootout on Saturday, October 19 at Rice University Track/Soccer Stadium. Pregame fan fest begins at 3 pm, kickoff at 5 pm. Details online at
http://www.hwsa.org/wusahouston.htm.

Tickets are on sale now at the Rice ticket office, at all Soccer 4 All locations, at Fiesta on I-10 west at Blalock, Fiesta on Bellaire at Hillcroft, at Soccer Time in Pasadena or online at
http://www.hwsa.org/.

The Rice soccer venue is fairly cozy (5000), so there's a good chance the game will sell out. If your soccer club would like purchase a large block of tickets, let me know this week -- I can bring them to you sometime next weekend.

$14 per individual ticket
$50 for family 4-pack
$240 for team pack of 20 tickets

Please spread the word to your teammates, coaches, friends -- the more successful this event, the greater our chances are for getting a Houston WUSA franchise down the line.

Soccer in the Chronicle
Every Sunday the Houston Chronicle features a soccer column by Houston's own Glenn Davis, the broadcast commentator for the Dallas Burn as well as several 2002 World Cup games for ESPN. The column is posted online at
http://www.chron.com/content/chronicle/sports/soccer/index.html. Let the Chronicle know that you like regular soccer coverage (sptletters@chron.com) or tell Glenn what you think (gdavis98@swbell.net).

Soccer on TV
There's lots of it, 'round the clock -- check out
http://www.soccertv.com/. It even has a list of soccer pubs sorted by state -- Houston has all the soccer pubs listed for Texas!
