Mission accomplished!
Despite the weather, last weekend's WUSA exhibition game at Rice University was a smashing success. Attendance topped 5,000, which means Houston set a record for attendance at a stand-alone WUSA exhibition in a non-franchise city. Both teams were very impressed with the fans and the Houston hospitality, and said they would love to return. If you bought tickets, thank you. If you didn't, I hope you'll come next year!

I usually don't condone advertising in Keeper Notes, but I would like to thank the sponsors who made Saturday's event possible:

Houston Hilton Plaza • Soccer 4 All • Fiesta • Minuteman Press Post Oak • Dell Computers • Churrasco's • Brian O'Neill's • Ruggles Cafe Bakery • Montalbano Tire • El Meson • Sondico/Competitive Excellence Goalkeeping • TORSO • HFA • STYSA • Today's Vision • NCAA College Cup • TSSAS

I also want to thank all the volunteers who worked on gameday, passed out flyers in the weeks before the game, or helped in any way. We couldn't have done it without you!

YMCA soccer for high school students
Do you know a high school student who still likes to play soccer? Who doesn't want to deal with trying out for the team and all that competition? Who wants to get back to how fun soccer was when he or she first started playing?

Join the High School Soccer Programs at the Southwest Family Family YMCA or the YMCA serving Katy! You'll meet new people (boys and girls), have fun, play soccer in a relaxed, low-key environment and eat too!

Call Josephine at the YMCA serving Katy at (281) 392-5055 or Arnold at the Southwest YMCA at (713) 664-9622 for more information. Or email Arnold at arnoldc@ymcahouston.org.
